Application Process

Research Scholar status may be conferred with or without a request for research support. The applicant may make a request for a grant from the Research Board in the initial application for Research Scholar status or in subsequent years, subject to Research Board funding limitations. The Research Board currently limits scholars to a maximum of $10,000.

A complete application to request Research Scholar status will include:

• Research Board Application Form
• Research Scholars' Program Information Form
• Detailed narrative proposal
• Curriculum vitae
• Letter of endorsement from the head of a UIUC academic unit relevant to the applicant's scholarly discipline
• Two letters of recommendation

Application forms may be obtained from the Research Board website at http://www.research.uiuc.edu/rsp/application.asp.

Completed applications are to be submitted to the Research Board Office.
