Eligibility Guidelines

General

CIRS pre-proposals must include at least three investigators. PI and Co-PIs should be limited to those members of the faculty receiving project funds. Additional members of the faculty may be project participants.
Principal Investigators on CIRS projects must be full-time members of the UIUC faculty. Adjunct faculty or Academic Professionals may serve as Co-PIs or project participants
Non-faculty Senior Research Personnel may serve as PI on projects if their unit supports administration of the award
An investigator may not participate on more than two pre-proposals

Investigators currently receiving CIRS funds for Full Proposals may not submit additional pre-proposals until their project has ended
Investigators receiving CIRS funds for Planning Proposals are eligible to submit pre-proposals to the program.
