Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get animals?
If the animals are coming from an approved vendor and are to
be housed in one of the DAR Managed Animal Facilities – complete an Animal
Request Form. The form is submitted to daraniorder@ad.uiuc.edu.
Was my
request received?
We typically respond back to you via email with a
confirmation that the order has been placed and is scheduled for delivery, in
about 2-3 working days, depending on vendor, availability of animals,
etc.? If you don’t hear back within that
time frame, you could send an email to daraniorder@ad.uiuc.edu to
check on the status. (Just in case there are computer problems, etc.)
Are there
deadlines for requesting animals?
Yes, the deadline for submitting an animal request is noon
on Wednesday for animals to arrive the following week, see the Submitting
Animal Request Forms policy.
There may be vendors that have their own deadlines that require earlier submission of your animal request form. For these specific vendor deadlines contact our office.
What if I
want to import animals?
The Import Request
Form and Animal
Request Form would be submitted as outlined on the import request form.
What if I
want to export animals to another institution?
